Executive Summary

Every day at least 100 people in America are killed with guns while hundreds are injured as a result of gunshots. The lives of Americans who witness gun violence are affected in one way or another since they are always in fear of the next incident. There have been some of the policies that have been established as a way of reducing gun violence in America. However, some have not met the aim of eradicating gun violence. Therefore, this report focuses on the problem description, suggested policy options as well as recommendations.

Introduction       

When we think about America and gun violence, it can be easy to conclude that the nation is faced with a lot of violent cases. Gun violence can be seen on a daily basis when we listen to TV or radio, turn on our computers, or when we open our newspapers. According to Swanson et al (2015), every day at least 100 people in America are killed with guns while hundreds are injured as a result of gunshots. The lives of Americans who witness gun violence are affected in one way or another since they are always in fear of the next incident. The rates of mental illness have become rampant as well as the issues of homicides.

At least two-thirds of the deaths that occur as a result of gun violence are suicides. Compared to high-income countries, the U.S gun suicide rate is 10 times higher (Butts et al., 2015)…….. (buy to read more).
