Sometimes, the act of breaking rules goes unnoticed, however, most of the time the sport’s official informed me of the deviant behavior. Thus, I perceive broken rules as deviant behavior since it goes against the set rules within the sports setting.  Sociologists have formulated various mechanisms of understanding the deviant behavior amongst various people. Social learning is a crime theory that perceives crime to be a learned behavior from people who associate closely with a perpetrator (Benson, 2020). For instance, children may pick up a behavior that is socially considered deviant from the parents and end up having the deviant behavior as part of their character trait.  Greater exposure to delinquent behavior early on in life may lead to the recurrences of deviance among the children in society. Individuals in the societal complex can learn social behaviors and adapt to the issues that are either positively or negatively reinforced as part of the social norms.
