Mexican War of 1846-1848

The Mexican War of 1846-1848 was fuelled by a dispute over the border with the US insisting it was at the Rio Grande while Mexico asserted it was further north at the Nueces River (Corbett et al., 2021). The war ended with Mexico ceding a large part of its territory under the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo and presently these parts include California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, and parts of Colorado, Wyoming, Kansas, and Oklahoma.
