Outlooks on Islam by Laine and Prothero.

Appx. 1,500 words.

In Prothero’s (2011) overview of Islam, the details of how the religion gained traction beyond Arab nations into other continents is not well articulated. This may be due to the focus of the chapter on just what separates Islam from other religions. Prothero for instance explains the dominance of Islam in Asian countries, in North Africa, and other parts but does not expressly refer to the Islam Kingdoms that led Muslims in the civilization period to believe that their religion was backed by God and hence spreading it across different regions.
