Paper # 1:

Identify one prominent terrorist group, inside or outside the US, and overview the history of terrorism in the country of origin of your chosen group, their operational style and current grievances. Explain how their original grievances can translate into a conflict on the US soil.

The intended objective of this assignment is to allow you to think about terrorism preparedness from a much more global perspective taking into consideration the fact that the threat assessment has to be expended beyond the “usual suspects” concept, like the Al Qaeda threat or any other high-profile group.

The required elements will include:

1. Identification of one terrorist group
2. History of the country where the group operates
3. The operational M.O.
4. Analysis of the threat from the group on US soil.

Each element will be graded in the following manner:
