The abolitionist movement is among the significant historic efforts towards changing an oppressive social norm. The abolitionists worked to free enslaved people in America and Eastern Europe. Corbett et al., (2021, p.377) note that abolitionists wanted to achieve a “multiracial society of equals using moral arguments”.
