Leftist movements have continually grown in various parts of the world. Communities have voted in leaders who they esteem to be helpful in enacting policies favoring their well-being.  Traditional hierarchical systems of governance in countries like Britain have always disadvantaged middle-class people. Attempts to create egalitarianism in society have been marred with the desire to maintain cordial relations among different classes of people. Foreign policies especially on imperialistic governments have spurred involvement in foreign issues that have led to the use of excess power. In the Suez crisis, the British involvement on accord of special interest was marked with the use of force on the various communities.  The rise of the bomb culture in London was an attempt of citizens repelling the nuclear war occurrence. The Budapest protests were a civilian leftist movement growth against the Soviet Union restricting policies in Hungary. Just like the Polish people had acquired their freedom through protests, the Hungarian people had a desire for freedom after protesting in Budapest.  Therefore, throughout the three texts, the social factors fueled the rise of various forms of leftist movements. The paper looks into particular aspects of societal change that citizens fought for through demonstrations, cultural change, and change of the government.
