Background Information on the Target Population

In the year 2014, the largest minority group in the USA was Hispanic. According to Velasco-Mondragon (2016), the population of the Hispanic people was 54.4 million. The growth rate of Hispanics is speculated to be around 28.6% by the year 2060(Velasco-Mondragon, 2016).  The Hispanic population comprises both natively born and foreign-born immigrants from Spain, Latin America, and the Caribbean.  The Hispanic population is faced with several social determinants that make it a disadvantaged group as compared to the general population of the USA.
