(PGBM71) Management Educational ToolKit Development – Assessment Details
These are the assessment instructions to making the toolkit. Find the full toolkit HERE.
For this module there are two individual assessments based on the following:
The purpose of the assessment for this module is the design of a Management Educational
Toolkit for current, future and aspiring managers on one of the following topic areas:
- A Manager’s guide for designing total reward practices
- A Manager’s guide for developing corporate social responsibility practices
- A Manager’s guide for developing a ‘brand’
- A Manager’s guide for designing employee engagement practices
- A Manager’s guide for enhancing the psychological contract of employees
- A Manager’s guide for developing leadership development practices
- A Manager’s guide for attracting new customers
For this module there will be eight social learning sets and you will have the opportunity to ‘bid’ for which of the learning sets you are a member of. The bidding will take place during sessions 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3 and you will be expected the complete a Social learning set assessment form, where you identity your first and second preferences. Once you have been allocated then you can only ‘swap’ social learning sets if you find another student is willing to ‘change’ learning sets. This has to also be agreed with the Module Leader.
The Social Learning Sets are as follows;
Social Learning Set 1: A Manager’s guide for developing corporate social responsibility practices
Social Learning Set 2: A Manager’s guide for enhancing the psychological contract of employees
Social Learning Set 3: A Manager’s guide for attracting new customers
Social Learning Set 4: A Manager’s guide for designing employee engagement practices
Social Learning Set 5: A Manager’s guide for developing corporate social responsibility practices
Social Learning Set 6: A Manager’s guide for developing a ‘brand’
Social Learning Set 7: A Manager’s guide for developing leadership development practices
Social Learning Set 8: A Manager’s guide for designing total reward practices
Both assessments are e-based and you will use the University’s e-portfolio technology (located at mysunderland, under e-portfolio). You are expected to join the PGBM71 Assessment Group 2014/15.
The two assessments are interrelated;
Assessment 1: The Management Educational Toolkit Blueprint (20% Weighting)
You are expected to design a ‘blueprint’ for your Management Educational Toolkit which outlines the following:
- The main debates and theoretical frameworks which will inform the design of your management educational toolkit
- A reflection on whom the toolkit is aimed at (who are the users of the toolkit?)
- A critique of the methodology which will inform your data collection
- Outline a plan of your development and design of the management educational toolkit
- Provide a reference list of key sources which you will assist you in the development of the management educational toolkit.
Parts 1 to 4 should be around 250 words each.
This assessment is to be completed as a series of reflective storyboard (and supporting evidence using diagrams, videos and photographs) using MAHARA located at https://portfolio.sunderland.ac.uk/). Within your reflective storyboard you should consider using diagrams and pictorial representation to support and underpin your commentary. There is no word limit for this but it needs to be in depth and relevant.
You must give access to your ‘Assessment 1 Blueprint’ view to the Module Leader and your Workshop tutor. If you do not do this then it will be classified as a non-submission.
Assessment to be completed no later than 9th January 2015
Learning Outcomes tested: K1, K2 and K3
Assessment 2: Management Educational Toolkit (worth 80% of module mark)
Following on from your blueprint for your Management Educational Toolkit (assessment 1)
